Last week I spent several days updating my logo — it’s a kangaroo. Okay, so that may seem odd since my day job is a graphic designer, but I was born in Australia and I have this innate love of aboriginal art. So, many years ago I adopted the kangaroo to be my service mark, my symbol as a designer. Besides Kangaroos have some interesting traits – for instance, they can only move forward; more on that later. My original logo was a crude stamp (made from styrofoam), which I inked up, stamped, scanned and manipulated in Photoshop. My current kangaroo logo for Lynne Grainger Design is modernized. I re-drew it in Illustrator, added patterns on the body, and introduced color. Why the recent interest in updating my look? I’m one of a handful of companies sponsoring a cycling team, Alfa 8, and my logo will be on their team jersey, event materials, etc. I am completely jazzed about this sponsorship opportunity, as I love cycling, too. More later on this design and other creative feats by me. www.lynnegrainger.com

Perhaps metaphorically, you are a kangaroo. Of course, not one that punches other animals. ; )
